Masterplan strategy for United Synagogue for the redevelopment of the existing Synagogue and Shul in Borehamwood & Elstree.

Borehamwood & Elstree is one of the fastest growing and most vibrant Jewish communities in the UK. The existing facilities on the site are outdated and cease to meet the needs of the growing congregation. In collaboration with consultants DNK, our proposed masterplan for the site suggests clear functional volumes which support much needed religious, educational, administrative and community facilities. A colonnade is introduced across the entire site to connect all new and existing buildings. Simple, cost effective materials such as concrete and larch cladding are proposed for ease and speed of construction.

The proposed development will be realised on a phasing programme to ensure the Shul and Synagogue can continue to function without any disruption to daily educational classes and weekend services.
