The refurbishment and extension of an Edwardian terrace house in Old Oak and Wormholt Conservation area in White City, west London. Works include the full refurbishment of the existing house including the construction of a new single storey rear extension that accommodates a new kitchen, lounge and dining space. The extension is full width and projects 4.5metres into the rear garden.
A large window with deep revel acts as a picture frame perfectly capturing the established pear orchard in the rear garden. A full height door provides access to the new south facing rear terrace. A large roof light allows light to enter deep into the long plan.
Internally, a terrazzo floor is proposed throughout with full height satin sprayed panelling on the internal walls reflecting our clients wish for a simple, practical space. Externally, light-mortar washed brickwork and matching precast lintel and window sill present a solid, carved single object in the garden.
